Man docked for alleged telephone theft
The accused is alleged to have stolen a telephone handset valued at N5, 500.
Jimoh, who lives at 15, Oguntola Street, Iyana-Ilogbo, Ota, is alleged to have stolen a Itel telephone handset valued at N5, 500, belonging to Mr Ayotunde Olagunju.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Abdulkareem Mustapha, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Oct.8 at about 7.15 p.m. at 11, Jimoh Fadele St., Ota.
Mustapha said that the offence contravened Sections 234 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Funke Odubanjo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100, 000, with two sureties in like sum.
She said that the sureties must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court and should be gainfully employed.
Odubanjo also ordered that the sureties should swear to an affidavit of means and submit four recent passport photographs to the court.
In addition, she ordered that the sureties should produce evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government and that their addresses should be verified by the police.
She adjourned the case till Dec.14 for hearing.
