Man kills teenage son in Ebonyi

45-year-old Nwofu Igbo from Nwofe community in the Izzi Local Government Area of the state is said to have confessed to killing his young son who was on a visit from Lagos.

A man in Ebonyi State is in trouble with the law after he allegedly killed his 16-year-old son.

45-year-old Nwofu Igbo from Nwofe community in the Izzi Local Government Area of the state is said to have confessed to killing his young son who was on a visit from Lagos.

The real reason for the alleged murder has not been revealed but Nwofu is believed to have killed his son over a lingering disagreement between him and the boy’s mother, who is now deceased.

An eyewitness reportedly told Vanguard that the boy had paid a visit to his father for the purpose of reconciliation but the latter was unwilling to make peace.

On a second visit to his father’s home, the boy was invited in only for the father to hack him to death when his back was turned. The suspect also allegedly dragged his son’s corpse to a nearby roadside and abandoned it there.

The incident has been confirmed by the Police Public Relations officer for the state, Chris Anyanwu, who said that investigations are still ongoing into the matter.
