Commercial driver arraigned for making life threats at wife

The accused is facing two-counts charges of assault and threat to life for his offence committed at his residence.

He is now facing two-counts charges of assault and threat to life for his offence committed on October 10, 2016 at his residence.

Inspector Innocent Uko, the prosecutor in the case told the court that Oputa assaulted his wife with iron rod and also attempted to strangle her.

Report says that the crime contravened Section 411 and 56 (A) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria 2011.

The accused is expected to serve a jail term of one year in prison if found guilty of the crime.
