Adultery destroys 22-yr-old marriage

A 70-year-old man has urged a court in Lagos State to annul his 22 years old marriage over his wife's promiscuity and sexual starvation.

A broken marriage is like a broken egg

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Adelapo, a building materials dealer, told the court that his wife and mother of three children, was sleeping around with different men while she denies him sex whenever he wanted to sleep with her.

Pa Adelapo told the court presided by Adegboyega Omilola that his wife goes out at will and even sleeps in the homes of her lovers.

“My wife is promiscuous and she used to deny me sex but preferred giving it to her other lovers. There was a day she went to pass the night in one of her lovers’ house, unfortunately, the wife of her lover, who traveled, came back unannounced and caught them in bed.

The woman beat my wife mercilessly, stripped her naked and seized her clothes. I then received a call that someone was about to murder my wife. I got the address and rushed there with some of my neighbours to rescue her.

I also caught her with a man she had introduced to me as her brother and I ordered her to pack out of my house, she pleaded and promised to change but she did not.

My wife always tells me she will kill one day and I am afraid she will carry out her threat one day. I want the court to separate us before she terminates my life.”

The 51-year-old Balikis, a petty trader, agreed before the magistrate that she denied her husband sex because he was fond of beating her.

“Yes, I denied him sex because he used to beat me. My husband used to order my children to beat me up; all the scars on my body were as a result of the constant beatings I received from them.”

While urging the two to maintain the peace and find a way to solve their problems, Omilola, adjourned the case to January 17, 2017, for hearing.
