Father of 3 hangs himself in Edo

Christopher Duffoir, a father of three, has thrown his family into mourning and sorrow after his dead body was found dangling from the ceiling fan in his house at  Irhirhi, Oko area of Benin City, Edo State.

According to information, Duffoir's body was discovered by his wife, Eno, who raised an alarm to attract their neighbours who called the police.

The distraught wife told the police that her husband had been behaving strangely in recent times shortly after he returned from a trip outside the state.

She said he was taken to a psychiatric hospital for treatment but escaped from the hospital after staying for a few days.

On the day of the incident, Eno told the police that she had gone out, leaving her husband sleeping in the sitting room but when she returned, she saw his body dangling from the ceiling fan.

The body has since been deposited at a mortuary in the state while investigations by the Edo state police command is ongoing.
