20-yr-old woman stabs boyfriend to death over feeding money

A woman has stabbed her live in lover to death following a quarrel over feeding allowance.

Gift Wahab murdered her lover because of money.

For his inability to provide enough money to augment feeding allowance, a 28-year-old man, Ebi Amade, has been stabbed to death by his 20-year-old live-in-lover, Gift Wahab.

The tragic incident happened on Fasasi Street, Ajegunle, Apapa area of Lagos State,on Thursday, March 19, 2015.

According to residents of the area, though the Uromi, Edo State born Wahab and the Bayelsa State born Amade were not married, they had been living together since 2013 and even had a baby together, though the child died last year.

The incident that led to death of Amade, according to neighbours, happened when the couple had an argument over money with Wahab complaining about the little amount given to her by Amade for feeding.

Looking sober at the State Department of Criminal Investigations, Wahab, an hairdresser, said she did not intend to kill her lover, but was pushed by anger to kill him.

Hear her:

"We have been together since 2013. My father died and I dropped out of school when I was in SSS 3, and that was when we started dating.

On Thursday, we went out for an event. As we were returning home, I said he should hand me the key to the house and my feeding allowance, but he said no. He explained that he had no money for our feeding.

Then he started to abuse me. I told him I was going home, and that he should not bother about the money again. That was how he punched me in the face and attacked me while we were still on the road.

I left him and went to look for a hammer, which I used to break the door. That night, when he came in, I was still angry.

I got a knife which I used to stab him. I didn’t intend to kill him. I was just annoyed over what happened in the afternoon."
