The annulment of the marriage was reached by the Court president, Olu Adebiyi, who also ordered that the wife must refund the N1.4 million Opeolu, a 32-year-old driver, spent on the wedding.
Opeolu who resides at Ewu Elepe Road in Ikorodu, was the one that dragged his wife to the court, said he was fed up with the marriage and could no longer cope with his wife's constant fighting and arrogance, especially towards his family members.
Bukola who did not object to the divorce request by her husband, also told the court that she was fed up of the marriage as well because they were always fighting.
“I am also fed up, we fight every day since the beginning of the marriage, I am no more interested in the marriage,” Bukola said.
She however begged the court to compel her husband to take full responsibility of the five month old child the shortlived union produced.
Ruling on the divorce, Adebiyi said:
“The court hereby, officially, dissolves the marriage. The custody of the five-month-old baby boy from the marriage is hereby awarded to Bukola.
The petitioner is to pay N5, 000 monthly to the respondent for the feeding of the only child of the union.”
