The saying that hell is not hotter than a scorned woman played itself out when an angry wife who caught her husband red handed with another woman, took her anger out on her home and practically smashed down the door to their apartment.
Luo Chen of Tunchang County, Hanian Province, Southern China, was arrested on suspicion of civil obedience and fined £100 after she bashed down the door of her own house after a tip-off that her cheating husband was inside with his mistress.
Luo was at work when she got a call from a neighbour to say her husband, Deng Sangiang, 36, was inside their marital home with a female companion.
The 32-year-old, who already had suspicions that her hubby who is the head of the local Anti Corruption Bureau, was cheating, rushed to confront him.
Deng's friend, Zhu Chiu, who found the incidence funny, said:
He didn’t realise but she had learnt a lot about his work and had built up her own network of spies and informers to try and catch him out. When we got to the house his mistress’s car was still outside and she flipped.
Initially, Chen tried to get into the house using her key, but soon realised her husband had left his key in the lock so it could not be opened from the outside.
When her banging failed to get a response, she borrowed a neighbour's toolbox and battered the door to pieces using a spanner and a tiny hammer. Eventually, Sangiang answered, pretending he had been asleep.
A police spokesman said:
We heard the head of the anti-corruption bureau’s house was under attack and when we got there we found him and his wife screaming at each other on the doorstep.
The other woman’s car was still outside and neighbours reported seeing her climb out of a window and run off. But we had no choice other than to arrest his wife for civil disobedience.
An angry Chen said:
Typical. You catch your husband cheating and then get arrested. Well, he can keep her. I want nothing to do with him anymore, and he can pay to get the door fixed.
