Avoid white:

The first rule of thumb is to avoid white at all cost. There is a higher tendency for your clothes to get stained from muddy water while on your way to work. Also, think about rude drivers splashing water on you.

Always have a trendy umbrella:

No matter what, this is Nigeria and you can never tell what may happen with the weather, especially during these rainy seasons. All of a sudden, the rains could come pouring down, so it is best to have a trendy shield, in the form of an umbrella.

Higher hems:

If you have to wear anything, especially for the bottom half, make the hems higher. I would recommend a knee length skirt over all but you could also do midi skirts or cropped pants to avoid getting stained.

Light weight fabric:

It would do you a world of good to wear lightweight fabrics like chiffon and the likes so that when the rains do catch you unawares, you are not left in soaked clothes for the rest of the day. Rather, the clothes can dry easily and you don’t have to risk catching a  cold.

Try patent leather:

For accessories like bags and shoes, fabrics like patent leather is probably the safest bet. The great thing about patent leather is that it is not liquid absorbent, so you can simply wipe up the water instead of having it soaked.
