UTME candidates in Benin urge exam body to be time conscious

While the candidates accused JAMB officials of coming late to the centre, one of the centre administrators attributed the delay to the candidates who came late.

Some 2018 UTME candidates who are writing their examinations in Edo state have called on the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board to be time conscious.

The candidates who accused JAMB of not starting the examination according to time schedule said JAMB officials' negligence could have negative effect on some candidates sitting for the exam.

Speaking on behalf of others, One of the candidates, Endurance Abang said ''some of the candidates travelled early to their various centres without food only to start waiting for JAMB officials''.

Another candidate, Solomon Osarodion also complained about the delay in the commencement of the examination, even though he praised JAMB for the smooth conduct of the 2018 UTME.

Osarodion, however, urged the board to ensure proper monitoring of all the facilities used during the examination to ensure no equipment meant for the exercise is outdated.

Centre administrator blame candidates for the delay

Meanwhile, while the candidates blamed JAMB officials for the delay in the commencement of the exam,  one of the board’s centre administrators, Daniel Egeonu said candidates who came late for the exam are responsible for the delay.

The 2018 UTME which started on Friday, March 9 will end on Saturday, March 17.
