Clapping hands because mango season is upon us. Words can’t describe my love for mangoes yum.
If I’m not making a smoothie/ juice with it, I always go with the firm ripe mangoes.
Can’t have all those juice dripping down my hands. * If you know what I mean*
Mangoes are packed with loads of antioxidants and enzymes, they also contain Vitamins and are a rich source of Fibre.
My favourite blend for this season (mango) is this creamy and yummy smoothie.

Recipe: Mango-banana Smoothie
Yield: 2
Ingredients
2 Mango (skin & seed removed, flesh roughly chopped)
1 frozen banana
½ cup of Almond milk (use milk of choice)
1/3 teaspoon of Cinnamon powder
Handful of ice cubes
* Optional*1/3 cup of Pomegranate seeds (crush separately)
Method
- In a blender, combine chopped mango, banana, almond milk. Blend until almost smooth.
- Add the crushed pomegranate seeds, ice cubes and cinnamon powder to the content in the blender.
- Blend until smooth and Enjoy.
This fibre packed smoothie is sure to leave you feeling full. Let’s get to know some benefits of eating mango ( because, mango is the star of this season) *big grin*
Health tips: The high levels of Fibre, Pectin and Vitamin C found in mangoes helps to lower serum cholesterol levels, specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein (the bad stuff).
The generous amount of Vitamin A and C found in Mango, including different type of carotenoids helps to keep our immune system healthy and strong.
Mangoes are also a rich source of beta-carotene, an antioxidant that helps fight free radicals that cause heart disease.
: The antioxidant compounds found in mango is known to protect against colon, breast, and prostate cancers.
Beauty tip: If your acne has been bothering you, including mangoes in your diet is a wise idea, because Vitamin A is known to reduce oil production on the skin. Mango is rich in this vitamin.
Vitamin A also aids skin growth and repair, and reduce fine lines as well.
We already know that Mango is packed with Vitamin A and C, but they are also rich in Iron and Vitamin B6 – all of which are beneficial for pregnant women.
