10 Nigerian celebrities involved in car crashes

Terry G crashed his black Range Rover in between the 1st and 2nd roundabout in Lekki expressway.

Terry G’s accident is the latest in a line of car accidents involving Nigerian celebrities. There have been quite a few which has been chronicled below for your reading.

1) Yinka Ayefele (1997)

19 years ago a budding singer and OAP by the name of Yinka Ayefele was in a ghastly car accident in which he lost his legs. The loss of his legs haven’t stopped him as he is one of the biggest gospel singers in the country. During Julius Agwu’s show this month Yinka Ayefele stated that he wished he could walk again.

2) Terry G (2010)

Last weekend’s accident was not Terry G’s first. In 2010 Terry G bashed his Toyota Camry after hanging out with his friends in Ikeja. The accident took place at Ogba. Terry G had two members of his entourage in the car with him also. The eccentric singer spent a few days in the hospital and had a total media blackout. He didn’t sustain any major injuries and was discharged a few days later.

3) Dagrin (2010)

The death of the late rapper is perhaps the famous car celebrity death in Nigeria. Dagrin was a rising star in the Nigerian music scene thanks to his sophomore album released late 2009. His stars were beginning to align. On April 14, 2010 Dagrin slammed into a parked trailer and sustained a serious head injury. 8 days after Dagrin gave up the ghost and left millions of Nigerians in shock.

4) Uche Jombo (2011)

The popular Nollywood actress and producer had a head on collision with another car along the Lekki-Chevron. She was in her FJ Cruiser when it happened.

5) Sauce Kid (2012)

Rap star Sauce Kid who prefers to be called Sinzu these days had his own car accident in 2012. Sauce Kid was in a convoy and had just left a night club in Magodo called SUB 69. Sinzu was heading to Club Deuces on Victoria Island when the accident happened at the junction of the Oregun road in Ikeja, Lagos. Fortunately, Sauce Kid was not hurt in the accident.

6) Wizkid (2013)

The Star Boy act famously bought a Porsche Panamera in 2013, and it was the talk of the town. A month later the pop demi-god crashed his new toy. It happened along Lekki-Epe expressway. According to eyewitness reports Wizzy’s front tire went out making the car spin several times before dragging itself along the sidewalk. The ladies in the car and Wizkid were not injured. Wizkid got a new Panamera two weeks after the accident.

7) Sossick (2014)

In a weird twist of fate Dagrin’s producer Sossick was involved in a serious car accident four years after. On May 30, 2013, Sossick was leaving the home of his friend DJ Neptune in Lekki when he crashed his car. The reason why he had the accident was unknown. Sossick suffered from a broken leg and was taken to General Hospital in Lagos Island then transferred to Micel Hospital, Gbagada, Lagos.

8) Psquare (2015)

Last year the dynamic duo of Peter and Paul popularly known as Peter Okoye were in a car accident. Coming back from a GLO sponsored event in Ibadan a lorry ran into their vehicle, a Range Rover, and dragged it for a few seconds. They didn’t sustain any injuries.

9) Bovi (2015)

In May 2015, comedian Bovi’s car was hit by another car in an intersection. As God would have it he only suffered an injured left eye.

10) Kiss Daniel (2016)

Nigeria’s rising star gave many people a scare early this year when he was involved in a car crash in Lekki. On January 12, Kiss Daniel revealed how he and his producer were rescued from the scene of their car accident in Lekki. Kiss Daniel and hit maker DJ Coublon came out without a scratch.
