Bobbi Kristina's partner battles possible criminal murder charges

"Bobbi Kristin Brown’s parentage, her death, and the subsequent criminal investigation has garnered national and international media attention adverse to Mr. Gordon," Nick's lawyers file for civil proceedings as he potentially faces criminal murder charges in the death of Whitney's daughter

Nick Gordon and his lawyers are reportedly doing all they can to stop the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina Brown's conservator, Bedelia Hargrove. They are asking the court for a stay of civil proceedings as he potentially faces criminal murder chargesin the death of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's daughter in July.

We earlier reported that the district attorney in Georgia has allegedly convened a secret grand jury with the intention of charging Gordon with murder in the death of his late girlfriend.

In the legal documents obtained by Us magazine on October 6, the 25-year-old’s legal team argues "as a result of Bobbi Kristin Brown’s parentage, her death, and the subsequent criminal investigation has garnered national and international media attention adverse to Mr. Gordon” and that "Mr. Gordon will be unfairly, legally, and financially prejudiced should he be subject to parallel criminal and civil proceedings.”

The filing also argues that “any statements made by Mr. Gordon in the civil case may incriminate Mr. Gordon in a criminal investigation,” and that since a judge sealed the cause of Bobbi Kristina’s death, he’s “precluded and denied the use of exculpatory evidence that will come forward as a result of the criminal investigation.”

Gordon’s team states that Hargrove’s lawsuit alleges that "Mr. Gordon is a murderer, a habitual batterer of women, a seducer of young white females, a thief and/or con-man fueled by monetary gain, and a chemist capable of making a toxic cocktail,” and that “these allegations within this suit, while lacking any supporting facts whatsoever, are designed to appeal emotionally and with racial animus against Mr. Gordon."

The papers conclude that Gordon "has been put into an untenable situation” and that he “would enjoy nothing more than to defend himself in this lawsuit, however, the same individuals that have filed this suit are the same people who are actively seeking a criminal prosecution and he simply cannot defend both simultaneously as refusal to incriminate himself.”
