Reality star quits 'Real Housewives of Atlanta'

NeNe announced her decision on Twitter on June 30 saying how hard it was to make up her mind

Nene Leakes could become the only black co-host on Fashion Police

After seven seasons, NeNe Leakes has announce she'll no longer be returning on the Real Housewives Of Atlanta (RHOA) reality TV show.

The star made the announcement via her Twitter on June 30 writing, ''This is so hard for me to type! I cry as I do so! After seven seasons I have decided not to return to #RHOA''.

According to TMZ, the reason behind NeNe’s decision had to do with contract negotiations. Sources tell the site, she couldn’t get the pay-cheque she was looking for but the show’s worried she’s taking the fans with her.

Reports claim the crew is shocked over NeNe’s sudden departure since the show was just about to start filming its new season in the next couple of weeks. Producers are now scared they’ll take a huge hit in the ratings over NeNe's exit.

The site further says the show's already found a replacement - actress, model and singer Kim Fields - but no one can really replace NeNe who was arguably the network’s biggest star.

NeNe is going to be focusing on new projects and one of them is taking her clothing store to higher heights. .. And there are rumors she could be joining E!'s 'Fashion Police' TV show by August.
