Leonardo DiCaprio is an excited mood as he talks about his first ever Oscar win which he received at the 88th Academy Awards held on February 28, 2016 at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles.
He admitted that winning an Oscar had been his life ambition, growing up in a family that encouraged professional movie acting.
He said getting his part in 'The Revenant' and his (eventual!) Oscar win at the award show was something he'd been dreaming of since he was a kid, according to US Magazine.
"I was very close to the Hollywood studio system, but I felt detached from it my whole life. And to have had parents that have allowed me to be a part of this industry, to take me on auditions every day after school, and to tell stories like this has been my dream ever since I was 4 years old,"
He expressed his appreciation concerning the amount of support he has received from fans on the internet in a run-up to the award show.
"You hear it on the internet, you hear it from other people, and we always strive for the best in what we do,"
"But this year, in particular, I've been overwhelmed with such support," he said.
One other major support he has received was from his 'Titanic' fellow cast, Kate Winslet who has showed a remarkable interest in the hope that he finally gets his first Oscar in 2016.
