'Dating one's manager as a female artiste often ends in a disaster', singer says

The singer/politician inspired by the Tiwa Savage and Teebillz saga has come out to warn female artistes to stay off dating their managers or record label owners.

Kenny Saint Best

Ex-wife to Eddy Remedy, singer turned politician Kenny Saint Best (KSB) has picked on female artistes dating their managers or record label owners, having the strong opinion that the relationship is not a plus, rather it often ends disastrously.

She speaks of this on the heels of the marital crisis that has rocked Tiwa Savage and Teebillz in recent times, as well as the rumoured Ubi Franklin and Emma Nyra’s dating episode and her consequent split from the label, among others.

The singer told Punch that most female acts get into trouble when they get themselves   involved romantically with their managers or record label bosses, adding that it is difficult for a female act to succeed if she is not in good terms with her male manager.

According to her, “Yemi Alade is not having any challenges because her alleged romance (with her manager, Taiye Aliyu) is going fine for now. So everything is fine but once there is a fallout, there might be trouble,” she said.

Also speaking on Emma Nyra, the songstress stated that Emma’s career nosedived because she broke up with her former boss, Ubi Franklin, who seemingly had control of her career. In her opinion, Emma Nyra starting all over again, is commendable, rather than letting her career die.

“In the case of Emma Nyra and Ubi Franklin; her career nose-dived because they broke up and she became a wreck emotionally. There was no where could push her career, now that she is coming back, she will have to join from the back and start all-over again,” she said.

“Dating one’s manager as a female artiste is not a plus, rather it often ends disastrously,” she added.

Kenny Saint Best married singer, Eddy Asiedu Brown a.k.a Eddy Remedy',  a member of the defunct music group - The Remedies in 2006, and the duo divorced in 2012 after six years of marriage and two children together.

KSB was a singer, brother and co-owner to Kenny Saint Ogungbe's Kennis Music.

She launched her political career back in 2014 with the All Progressive Congress where she contested the primary elections of the All Progressive Congress for the Lagos State House of Assembly (Ikeja Constituency 1).
