Actresses reveal battered faces in anti domestic violence campaign

Juliet Ibrahim co-ordinates the anti domestic violence campaign.

Juliet Ibrahim recently got behind the camera to direct a photoshoot for actor/model, Emmanuel Ikubese Foundation.

The shoot is for his initiative Project RAW (Respect A Woman) awareness campaign against domestic violence.

It was an opportunity for Juliet to hone and display her directorial skills.

"The shoot was something I was excited to be part of because it was an avenue to bring to fore what a lot of women go through in silence on a daily basis via domestic abuse” said the actress.

“I tried my best to make sure the work has a consistent message that fits in with what Emmanuel is trying to project, hoping that it would give women a strength to speak up and men a spine to man up and stop battering women both emotionally and physically.

"Kudos to the photographer and makeup artist, working with them made the vision I had as a director so easy to visualize" she further said.

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade who is a part of the project has spoken up against domestic violence.

The actress Adunni Ade shared a photo from the RAW campaign photoshoot of her battered and bruised.

In the caption of the picture she advised women to leave abusive relationships.

“It is never ok to put hands on your significant other. A lot of us Women have experienced this and try to stay in the relationship all in the name of LOVE. Get out while you can. So much more the WORLD has to offer than constant black eye, bruised body or emotional trauma” wrote Adunni Ade.

“I applaud you @emmanuelikubese for strongly standing on your beliefs on Violence against Women. I can only pray for anyone being who is in an abusive relationship. May you get enough strength to walk out, trust me it ain't easy but very doable... Coz Adunni says so. #Bless #RAW #RespectAWOMAN” she further wrote.

“The Project RAW is a domestic violence awareness campaign. The acronym RAW stands for Respect A Woman, I believe no man will ever hit his Mother because of Respect. If such Respect can be applied in Relationships/Marriages this will significantly reduce the rate of Domestic violence in our society” said Emmanuel Ikubese during the launch of the campaign.
