Actress divorces husband barely 2 years after marriage

The actors are splitting after two years of marriage and a son they had together, Maceo, aged two.

 

News reaching us reveals that Hollywood actress, Halle Berry and husband of two years, Olivier Martinez are divorcing.

The actors are splitting after two years of marriage and a son they had together, Maceo, aged two.

In their joint statement the couple said, "It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce. We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus for what is best for our son."

They added, "We wish each other nothing but happiness in life, and we hope that you respect our, and most importantly our children's privacy, as we go through this difficult period."

Halle and Martinez were last seen together on October 17 while shopping in Sherman Oaks with her daughter Nahla, aged seven, from the actress' relationship with model, Gabriel Aubry.

According to TMZ, Berry made the filing and it was added that the two have a prenup and according to Celebrity Net Worth, she has a fortune of $80m.

According to the site, the marriage unraveled in the past week after they hit a 'breaking point.'

They had been fighting over his incident at LAX, where Olivier hit a man with a car seat and in mid October was sued for it.

The incident is reported to have made a bad situation worse.

According to a source, the divorce had gone smoothly and hitch free, since they are both in agreement over wanting the divorce.

'The relationship had run its course,' said a friend. 'They are keeping it amicable now.'

The insider also said that Halle, who told InStyle in 2007 'I will never, never get married again' , was 'okay.'

This will be Berry's third divorce and Martinez's first.

The two had met in 2010 on the set of their drama, 'Dark Tide', and seemed to be in good spirits as they strolled together.

The Catwoman star was married to baseball player, David Justice in the early 1990s and singer, Eric Benét in the early 2000's.
