Singer's grandfather receives honour from University of Port-Harcourt

The music critic is known as the first manager of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Benson Idonije is currently a book on the late Afrobeat enigma titled 'DIS FELA SEF: The Untold Legends of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’. He started writing the book in 2009.
 
 

Music critic and veteran broadcaster Benson Idonije who is Burna Boy's grandfather has been honoured by the University of Port-Harcourt.

Idonije was made a fellow of Adam Fiberesima School of Music and Conservatory for his "track records as a veteran broadcaster and music critic, as well as his commitment to the development of classic and indigenous music, not only in Nigeria, but throughout the West African region."

The music critic is known as the first manager of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Benson Idonije is currently a book on the late Afrobeat enigma titled 'DIS FELA SEF: The Untold Legends of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’. He started writing the book in 2009.

Benson Idonije has also written several articles for many Nigerian newspapers.
