MD urges National Assembly members to buy locally made cars

Peugeot Nigeria Limited (PAN) and other local auto manufacturers are lobbying members of the National Assembly.

In light of the N4.5 billion proposal for car purchase by National Assembly members, Peugeot Nigeria Limited (PAN) and others are urging members to buy locally made cars.

According to the Managing Director of PAN, Mr. Ibrahim Boyi, these members need to patronise local manufacturers, adding that this would provide jobs for unemployed Nigerians.

“We have approached them. Some members of the National Assembly are even using our vehicles as demonstration cars. They need to show more patriotism by patronising what is available locally because this will also create more job opportunities for Nigerians.”

Speaking to The Punch, Bovi was truthful enough to say, “we don’t have the Toyota Land Cruiser equivalent in Nigeria.”

Other contenders include Dana Motors, and Coscharis Motors.
