Pharrell talks Starboy's music on Beats1 radio show

The singer talks about how he likes the Afrobeat sound in Wizkid's 'Ojuelegba' song.

The American singer and record producer was speaking with rapper Skepta on theothertone radio show  who featured  on the remix of 'Ojuelegba' alongside Drake.

“The feeling of that song felt amazing, what I like about the conversation is emotionally that song was therapeutic for you, that’s what I love about music, I love the idea that like when some people listen to music just to listen, and then sometimes music just comes in handy and it’s giving you a feeling that you need to feel more of so that you just play it over and over again” the rapper and singer said.

Skepta said he had been listening to many songs but Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’  "takes care of him emotionally"  and it was gratifying him to put out the song 'ojuelegba' with Drake and Wizkid and even helped him mourn the loss of a friend.

"Those songs we would literally just listen to them for the whole day” Skepta said referring to Wizkid’s Ojuelegba and another song by Jamaican dancehall singer Popcaan. “At the time, Drake came to London to do wireless and when he was about in the hood that’s all we were playing. So it was like it made sense just to do it” He added.

The UK rapper says he was glad to have re-connected with his African roots through the remix of ‘Ojuelegba’ he featured in. Pharrell then gives a shout-out to Nigerians and Africans for being a resourceful place.
