Iyanya has reacted to the Pulse exclusive report which revealed his reasons for his proposed split with Ubi Franklin.
The singer had earlier announced his creation of a new label and an album to be released this year. Pulse had reported on the reasons for his proposed split from Made Men Music Group, a record label which he has co-owned since 2011. Sources had revealed a number of differences between the singer and his manager, and his decision to leave.
Iyanya has openly debunked certain parts of the story, writing on Instagram to update with new information. “All these are lies. I'm not fighting Ubi. His wife is the best woman in the world for him, She is a good woman, she's a good cook too. You guys please chill,” he wrote.
Iyanya is yet to explain the reason for his proposed split from MMMG, and his latest single, ‘Ayaya’, featuring South-South rapper Ikpa Udo, and Upper X, did not contain the label name nor company logo on the press materials and releases.
Insider sources close to the singer has revealed exclusively to Pulse, that Iyanya has confirmed his departure from MMMG, and is actively working to launch his new record label. The singer has been in the US since March, but will soon return to the country to properly setup the record label.
Contrary to popular belief, his next album will not be the anticipated joint project with Banky W. Rather, he will be releasing a solo album first, to make a comeback from 2015’s lukewarm LP, and it will be released under his new label.
“Iyanya is building a team for his record label, and he has left Ubi Franklin and MMMG”, our source confirmed. “His new album is 80% done, but he has to set up his record label, before he can release it”.
Iyanya and Ubi Franklin launched Made Men Music Group in 2011, and together have released two solo albums, and a label group compilation album.
