Beyoncé performed with Coldplay during the Super Bowl 50 halftime show in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 7 — and she brought on her A-game.

The music superstar, 35, performed her brand new single “Formation” for the first time. The day before, the song and its music video — which features a cameo by her daughter Blue Ivy, 4 — dropped unannounced, à la her self-titled 2013 album.

During the halftime performance, Beyoncé strutted across the field in a Michael Jackson-inspired bodysuit with a massive group of dancers and flames behind her. She was so into the dance-heavy routine that, at one point, she almost fell before she was joined by Bruno Mars and Coldplay's Chris Martin.

This wasn’t the first time that Coldplay teamed up with Beyoncé. The British rock band tapped the “Drunk In Love” crooner on their collaborative single “Hymn for the Weekend” last year. In January, she starred in the accompanying Bollywood-themed music video.

Beyoncé first took to the Super Bowl stage in February 2013, when she reunited with Destiny’s Child during a show-stopping halftime set of her own.

On Friday, February 5, Mrs. Carter reminisced about her 2013 showstopper in a rare interview with CBS.

“It’s one of those magical performances you can’t recreate,” the megastar explained. “I wanted it to be something iconic and something that people would never forget.”
