Eagles Coach raises doubt over Ahmed Musa’s concentration level

Getting Musa to be in his top form is crucial for the Super Eagles in the upcoming match against the South Africa.

Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles Coach, has expressed concern about the psychologically stability of his team’s Assistant Captain and Leicester FC winger, Ahmed Musa, after the social media uproar surrounding the player’s marital affairs.

According to reports from the Glass House, Abuja, the coach raised this concern during discussion with officials of the Technical Department of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on the team’s readiness for the Group E match against the South Africans on June 10.

The Leicester winger has been trending on the social media after he was alleged to have divorced his wife, Jamila, and attempt at taking a second wife. Though, NFF had issued a rebuttal in support of Musa, and the player had promised to sue the source of the news.

Mr. Rohr desires all the players are at their 100 percent in the match against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa next month, and he is greatly bothered about Musa’s state of mind. The tactician's major worry is that the winger has been unsettled by private issues outside the football field, wondering that such could potentially distract him and affect the fortunes of the team.

Before the divorce drama, there were reports of the winger getting an invite from the police over neighbours’ complaints about domestic violence and abuse.

Towards getting the best from the players, Mr. Rohr hoped that all distractions around the player would be promptly resolved before camping opens in France later this month.

It would be recalled that Ahmed Musa had to seek the coach’s permission to leave the Eagles camp in London, to attend introduction with his new bride, Juliet, in Lagos on March 25.
