Entertainer Talks Sexuality, Covers 1st Issue Of Illuzion Magazine

Charly boy opens up in an interview with Illuzion Magazine

Charly Boy Oputa covers the first issue of Illuzion Magazine. The entertainer who shared photos from behind the scenes off his shoot with the online fashion and lifestyle magazine days ago wearing bold brows and colourful eye colour, covered the issue even fiercer. If you missed it catch it here.

The entertainer in an exclusive interview with the magazine dished on everything from his controversial image to politics, what makes him tick and all, excerpts;

How have u been able to remain  true to your image through the years?

“For me it’s just about what’s new, we are dealing with the boy in me not with Mr Oputa. It is when we start getting older we begin to forget the childlike things in us. This is what makes me stay in touch with my art and creativity.

I manage to keep in touch by being determined, i always see myself as a little boy, I always work around creative and exceptional people they keep sharpening me and it keeps me relevant. The association makes creativity easy and it challenges me to be my baddest self.”

So, what is your opinion on the Nigerian anti-gay law and what would you rather the Nigerian legislatures legislate on?

“ You know our people have a problem with prioritizing. My sexuality as long as long as it is not harassing anybody what has that got to do with the obnoxious corruption that is going on with impunity? People’s sexual preference does not come into priority, what is going on with all our money?

I blame our people because it’s not just about the leaders but followers. I’m not happy with the Nigerian youths, they don’t speak about the leadership, threats and pains they experience daily, they have compromised to such and mortgaged their futures. Out of fear and weakness they left the rot persist which is unfortunate, the future they all talk about, what do they see? Because tomorrow belongs to the youths and if they don’t take it back by any means, these riff-rafts will continue to spoil things.”
