Whale photobombs US governor during speech
A beluga whale stole the show by photobombing the Governor of Connecticut, Dannel Malloy as he gave a passionate speech about tourism.
The curious creature was spotted by amused onlookers as he floated around behind the governor who was addressing the press at Mystic Aquarium near New London.
The whale appeared to be intrigued by the cameras as it floated behind the governor, occasionally poking its head out to peer from behind his shoulders.
The 13-year-old mammal also pressed his nose against the glass pane several times in a bid to get a closer look at the action.
Cameras at the event repeatedly zoomed in on the cheeky whale, before the governor eventually turned to look over his shoulder and realised what had been distracting the audience from his address.
