The song debuted on the chart at the 21 position, before rising to 13, and later storming the 3 and 2 spots.
This marks Drake's 17th top 10 song and the first time the rapper will be the lead artiste on a number one song. Drake previously hit number one as a guest on Rihanna's ‘What's My Name’ in 2010, but ‘One dance’ is his first as a headliner, with a little help from Wizkid and Kyla.
The song which features Nigeria’s own Wizkid and Fillipinio R&B singer Kyla was Drake’s first-ever UK number one as a headliner when it topped the charts last week knocking off Mike Posner’s tenure at the top.
“Drake celebrates his first No. 1 as a lead artist on the Billboard Hot 100(dated May 21), as “One Dance,” featuring WizKid and Kyla, climbs 2-1.
The track is from his new album, Views, which, as previously reported, debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with his best sales week and a record-setting weekly streaming total.” Billboard wrote.
