University admits 1,650 students

The Vice Chancellor of the university disclosed this in an interview in Dutse on Thursday.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Fatima Mukhtar, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Thursday.

Mukhtar explained that the successful students were admitted into the faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Social Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, General studies and Sciences.

She said that the university did not admit students into College of Medical and Health Sciences this session because it could not meet up certain requirements set by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

According to her, a teaching hospital, anatomy, physiology and biochemistry laboratories which were some of the pre-requisites, had not been put in place by the institution.

The Vice Chancellor disclosed that by next academic session in 2017 faculty of Management Sciences would be established.

She stated that courses such as Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Taxation and Actuarial Sciences would be introduced under the proposed faculty.
