Stay away from extremism, intolerance, VC warns students

Federal University, Birnin Kebbi students have been asked to play a role in stamping out extremism, ethnic and religious intolerance in the country.

Students of the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi have been warned to shun clear of extremism and intolerance, especially ethnic and religious matters.

The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, gave the advice in his speech at its maiden matriculation ceremony held last Thursday.

He said the students have a role to play in fighting extremism, ethnic and religious intolerance.

"It is our collective responsibility to stamp them out of our campuses and our lives.

"I therefore implore all to report any suspicious character(s) to the university authority at any time and all should be security conscious," he added.

The university admitted 507 out of the 616 applications it received.
