Argentina recorded a 5-0 victory against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a friendly fixture played on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
It took Argentina just 17 minutes to take the lead as Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez connected with a ball from Lionel Messi.
Angel DiMaria volleyed a cross by Marcos Acuna to score the second in the 25th minute. The Juventus man received a ball from Alexis Mac Allister and went around the UAE goalkeeper to score the third in the 36th minute.
Lionel Messi latched on to a ball from Di Maria to score the fourth and give Argentina a comfortable lead at the break.
There were several changes made by Argentina boss Luis Scaloni. In the 60th minute, Joaquin Correa scored the fifth converting a ball through to him by Rodrigo de Paul.
Messi stayed late in the game and created several chances for his teammates. It turned out to be an easy win as Argentina prepared for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The game against the UAE is a preparation for their group opener against Asian side Saudi Arabia.
Argentina now extends their unbeaten run to 36 games going into the World Cup.
