Liverpool boss Jurgne Klopp is looking forward to a highly competitive encounter when they take on Spanish La Liga side Villarreal in their first leg UEFA Champions League semi final fixture scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

The Reds are still in contention for all four major trophies this season.

Klopp in his pre match conference outlined the difficulty a team like Villarreal pose.

The German tactician stated that his side would not underestimate Villarreal like Bayern Munich and Juventus.

Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze recently talked about his Champions League final dream and praised his manager Emery

Klopp has also revealed that he has a lot of admiration for Villarreal boss Emery and what he has been able to achieve with the Spanish side.

He said, "Of course, we did a proper analysis of them.

"I had a lot of respect for Unai Emery and Villarreal before, because I saw the games against Bayern Munich and Juventus but only with one eye.

"But then I watched them properly: Wow! Impressive. Unai is obviously a detailed-obsessed manager who prepares for all different situations in a game. It's really, really good.

"Different ways to build up, different ways to press, different ways to react on different results. Really, really impressive. He's obviously a world-class coach and doing an incredible job there."

Ahead of the game, Klopp went into detail about the tactics Villarreal deploy when they take on big teams.

He added, "We face a very, very difficult opponent They are made for this competition.

"There might have been a little advantage in the last two games - maybe Juventus or Bayern underestimated them, but that will never happen with us, especially after those four games.

"They are a really, really good football team who obviously want to make history as well. I think it would be the first time they could get to the final, which is a massive thing for Villarreal.

"But for us, it's the same importance. We want to go there with all we have and that's what we have to show on Wednesday night."

Villarreal booked their spot in the semifinal thanks to a late goal by Super Eagles forward Chuwkueze and face Liverpool confident due to recent results.
