Super Falcons of Nigeria star Asisat Oshoala has landed in Turin for the UEFA Women's Champions League final between Barcelona Femeni and Lyon.

The 27-year-old Oshoala played a crucial role as Barcelona secured a place in the final despite a second leg defeat to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

This would be Oshoala's third Champions League final since he joined Barcelona from Chinese side Dalian Quanjian in 2019.

Oshoala is set to make more history with Barcelona Femeni in the Champions League this season.

Oshoala against Lyon

Back in 2019, Oshoala featured in her first Champions League final also against Lyon.

Oshoala started the game on the bench but made an impact when she was brought in.

The Super Falcons star was introduced in the 69th minute at the Groupama Arena, in Budapest, Hungary.

Oshoala scored a consolation goal in the 89th minute as Barcelona suffered a 4-1 loss to Lyon.

The goal by Oshoala meant that she was the first African footballer to find the back of the net in a UEFA Women's Champions League final.

Three years after that defeat, Oshoala is set to face off against Lyon again.

Oshoala was part of the Barcelona Femeni team that won the Champions League against Chelsea last season.

Oshoala also came off the bench in the 71st minute but could not find the back of the net in the victory.

This time, Oshoala and Barcelona are the defending Champions as the Nigerian recently won the pichichi award as the top scorer in Spain with 20 goals.

Barcelona Femeni take on Lyon in a 2019 Champions League rematch scheduled to take place at the Juventus Stadium, Turin Italy on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
