Super Falcons of Nigeria star Asisat Oshoala is set to return from a long injury layoff.
The 27-year-old Oshoala has been out of action due to a knee injury suffered back in February.
The injury happened just about when Oshoala was about to represent the Super Falcons of Nigeria against the Lady Elephants of Ivory Coast in a 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifier.
The statement by Barcelona Femeni on February, 21 2022 expected Oshoala to return to action in about 10 weeks after rehabilitation.
The statement said, "@AsisatOshoala has an injury to the biceps femoris of his left thigh The estimated period of leave for both is about 10 weeks."
Now weeks from her recovery and return to training with teammates, Oshoala is now expected to return for Barcelona Femeni.
The Super Falcons star was part of the Barcelona Femeni training session on Thursday, February 21, 2022.
Oshoala was also given the green light by the medical team to take part in Barcelona next game
A statement on the Barcelona website about the Super Falcons star said, "There was good news to be had because all of Claudia Pina, Mariona Caldentey, Patri Guijarro and Asisat Oshoala have been given the medical go-ahead to play in tomorrow’s game."
Oshoala and her Barcelona Femeni teammates trained for their UEFA Women's Champions League semi-final first leg against German side Wolfsburg Thursday morning at the Camp Nou.
This is the second time that Barcelona Femeni would play at the Camp Nou as they earlier set a record of 91,553 fans in attendance against rivals Real Madrid in the previous round.
