Tennis star storms out of court after losing to Osaka in 1st round of Miami Open

Serena seemed unhappy with the result of the Miami Open encounter.

Osaka who recently won the defeated Serena in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) to advance to the next stage of the tournament.

Serena who is just making a comeback to tennis since the delivery of her child seemed unhappy with the result of the encounter as she stormed out of the venue into an already waiting car.

Now number 491 in the world, Serena was unable to stop Osaka ranked number 22 as she wrapped up the game in 77 minutes.

The 20-year-old Japanese is rated as one of the fast rising female tennis players and Serena was vulnerable against her in-form opponent

After leaving without a comment Serena is expected to be fined for her actions.

The defeat was Serena’s first in the  opening round of a hard court tournament on American soil in 21 years.

The loss to Osaka was Serena’s second successive since her return, after she was knocked out of the Indian Wells open by her sister .

Speaking after the game Osaka was delighted with her victory over Serena.

She said, “I kind of wanted to impress her, and I just wanted to make her say 'come on' one time, and I think she did so I'm really happy about that,”

Serena issued a statement after the match to praise the Japanese for her efforts which said, “Every tournament is an opportunity for me to better understand the areas I need to improve to be my best. Naomi played a great match and I learn something each time I play.”

Serena has won the Miami Open eight times and is expected to continue working towards reclaiming the form she showed before the birth of her child.
