The Super Falcons of Nigeria have arrived in Vancouver for the friendly against Canada.

The travel arrangements of the Super Falcons were not disclosed to the public as well as the team list.

Dr. Mohammed Sanusi General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) explained the reason for the friendly against Canada.

He said, “There are no longer minnows or minions in African women football. The championship in Morocco will serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and we cannot afford to take chances.

"Only the four semi finalists in Morocco will qualify for the Women’s World Cup to be hosted by Australia and New Zealand next year.

"It is important that our girls get the best of preparation possible.”

Canada are the reigning Olympic women's football champions after their victory in Tokyo 2020.

On Tuesday night, the Super Falcons flew out of Nigeria aboard a Lufthansa Airline plane.

Atletico Madrid forward Rasheedat Ajibade put out a video of the Super Falcons' arrival in Canada.

The clash between Nigeria and Canada will take place at the Centennial Stadium in Victoria City on Saturday, April 10 at 3:30 am and Monday, April 11, at 7;30 pm.
