Losc Lille release veteran Nigerian goalkeeper

Vincent Enyeama has been deemed surplus to requirements at French Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille

Enyeama joined Lille from Israeli outfit Hapoel Tel-Aviv in 2011 and was sent on loan back to Maccabi Tel-Aviv for the 2013/14 season.

The 36-year-old shot-stopper was a key part of the Nigeria national team and his last tournament was the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Enyeama and Lille

Lille confirmed Enyeama's departure from the club after seven years with the club.

The statement read, "Vincent Enyeama and LOSC have reached an agreement go their separate ways. The club would like to wish Vincent - who made 164 appearances for us - all the very best in his future endeavours."

In the 2013/14 season the Nigerian shot-stopper set a record of 21 clean sheets in 38 league games, which included 1,062 minutes of not letting in a goal.

Enyeama also took to his official Twitter account to confirm his release from the club, with a caption "THE END."
