PREMIER LEAGUE: Three players Chelsea should target in the January transfer window

Chelsea have struggled this season to string a consistent run of form together. A few wins after Graham Poter was appointed, eventually gave way to poor performances and poor results. If the club decides to look into the transfer market for answers, there are a few players that could provide fresh impetus.

1.) Memphis Depay - Barcelona

The Barcelona man is clearly not wanted in Spain and is firmly below Robert Lewandowski in the pecking order. That is not to take anything away from his abilities. Memphis scored 43 goals for the Netherlands and, despite struggling with injuries last season, he scored 13 goals for Barcelona in 29 starts.

His ability to hold up play, dribble, and shoot with both feet will be crucial to Chelsea boss, Graham Potter. Another critical factor is the potential price. Memphis could be available for less than €10m.

2.) Sofyan Amrabat - Fiorentina

Amrabat has been steady in midfield for Fiorentina but he really came into public recognition with his displays for Morocco. An excellent ball-winner and carrier from deep, Amrabat will give the blues something they are sorely lacking.

More importantly, the likes of Ngolo Kante and Jorginho look set to be leaving at the end of the season so midfield will be a vital position to fill for Chelsea.

3.) Denzel Dumfries - Inter Milan

Dumfries has impressed consistently for Inter so far this season and was previously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the summer.

Following injuries to both Reece James and Ben Chilwell, Potter could do with another wide defender in his squad to allow more flexibility in terms of tactics and formation.
