Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has fired back at Victor Ikpeba over the comments the ex-Nigerian international made after Nigeria's World Cup playoff clash against Ghana.
Osimhen played the full 180 minutes across the two legs in Nigeria's clash against Ghana. However, he could not help the three-time African champions qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
After playing a 0-0 draw in the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, the Super Eagles could only play a 1-1 draw at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, meaning Ghana qualified on away goals rule.
Following the match, the players came in for criticism, with Ikpeba singling out Osimhen. The ex-Monaco star criticised the Napoli star for his lack of composure in the two games.
However, Osimhen did not like Ikpeba's comments, and he has responded to the former Super Eagles star.
The 23-year-old took to his Twitter page to post a Yoruba adage that reads: Adie funfun kò mo ara rèlágbà, which means "The white chicken does not realise its age."
Osimhen then added a meme post to the tweet, with the caption reading, "if you like judge me, me self Dey judge you, people Dey judge our two, this life na the judge of the jungle."
Osimhen had since returned to his club Napoli for the final stretch of the season.
