Former Liverpool youngster Taiwo Awoniyi remains a big fan of the popular English Premier League according to his latest revelation.

Taiwo says it remains his 'dream' to play in the Premier League just a year after he moved to the German Bundesliga on a permanent deal.

The 24-year-old joined modest side FC Union Berlin last summer after six journey-man years at Anfield.

Awoniyi failed to make a single senior appearance for the Reds, who he joined in the summer of 2015, with the youngster spending those years combing Europe on loan.

However, the latest Super Eagles star has set his sights on a return to the PL just a year after he finally found a place to call home having signed for Union Berlin permanently in a deal worth 6.5m back in May 2021.

"The Premier League is my dream," Awoniyi said in a recent interview with German media outfit, Kicker.

"Everyone knows that (playing in the PL) including here in the club. If I lived in England, it would be easier for my wife and child, just by myself because of the language. Also, my sister and a brother live on the island."

Awoniyi, who was a part of the Super Eagles team to the just concluded AFCON2021, where he scored a goal in three appearances, has scored an excellent 14 goals in all competitions this season for Berlin.

He has also attracted interest from other English clubs like West Brom and Fulham, who have been keen to sign the Nigerian even before he made the switch to the Bundesliga.
