Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze is in line to start for Villarreal on Tuesday in their Champions League semifinal second leg at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

Liverpool hold a 2-0 advantage from the first leg at Anfield courtesy of a Pervis Estupinan own goal and Sadio Mane's effort.

Due to Yeremy Pino's continued absence due to injury, Chukwueze is set to start for the Yellow Submarines again as they hope to follow Unai Emery's instruction to defeat the Reds.

The former Arsenal manager made the revelations at his pre-match press conference this afternoon: “Gerard Moreno will surely be able to play tomorrow. Tomorrow we will do the last training session. It is true that today Gerard has trained with the group and we will see tomorrow to what extent he feels good tomorrow. We do not take any risks with him.

“Danjuma has also had some discomfort. He has not trained today with the group and tomorrow morning we will see if he is in a position to play as well.

“Yeremi, it is true that he has an injury that will make him miss out. He and Alberto are low.”

Chukwueze and Pino have alternated on the wings for Villarreal all season with the Spaniard's absence almost a guarantee that the Nigerian international will start against Jurgen Klopp's side.

Emery wants 'perfect' attack and defence against Liverpool

As Liverpool strive to reach a third Champions League final in five seasons, Emery has stated that only a 'perfect' game can stop Klopp's side in their tracks.

"Tomorrow we have to play a perfect game. We want the fans to help us live it and enjoy it. The feeling of belonging is very important," Emery explained.

“Tomorrow the predominance will be yellow. We are here and we want to play in the final.

The Spanish tactician also stated that other than being solid defensively, the Yellow Submarines also need to beat Liverpool at their attacking game.

Emery said: “First, we play at home, with our fans. Second, tomorrow we have to win. Third, we have to defend, but there are many ways to defend.

“Tomorrow we have to play a tremendous defensive game, brutal, different from Liverpool and, from there, to also be able to find something that we didn’t find there, which was our game.”

Liverpool will be buoyed by Jurgen Klopp's new long-term contract as the German manager signed a two-year contract extension to stay at the Merseyside club till 2026.
