Arnesen said: “Cyriel did exactly what we got him for: score goals and make a difference. He has been instrumental in the club's European success this year. A memorable year, for many reasons.
"And not unimportant: he has stolen the hearts of the public in De Kuip. We therefore wish him every success in the continuation of his football career."
Dessers qualify Feyenoord for Europe
By finishing 3rd in the league, Feyenoord will play in the Europa League qualifiers for a chance to compete in Europe's secondary club competition next season.
Dessers scored ten (10) goals and created two (2) assists in 13 Europa Conference League matches during the season before Feyenoord lost the final to Jose Mourinho's AS Roma by a slim 1-0 margin.
The 27-year-old is expected to return to parent club Genk where his contract runs through till June 2024.
