Manchester City have submitted an improved bid of £40m for Liverpool want-away forward Raheem Sterling which has been rejected.
An opening £25m plus £5m in add-ons offer by Manchester City was rejected by Liverpool on Thursday, June 11.
Liverpool values the forward close to £50m, but City's latest bid still falls short of it.
The new offer on Wednesday, June 17 is £35m plus £5miin add-ons.
Liverpool according to have made it clear they want a straight cash deal for Sterling who is also being courted by Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Liverpool have always maintained they do not want to sell Sterling, who has two years remaining on his contract.
