The Mikel family are in Nigeria on vacation as they relocated from China back to Africa.
Mikel has not been in action for his club Tianjin Teda and missed the later part of the Chinese Super League (CSL) through an injury as they escaped relegation.
The Nigerian captain has also missed the recent Super Eagles games after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Mikel, his wife, and his kids received a very warm welcome by his family and friends home based in Nigeria.
He took to his official Instagram account to confirm his arrival back home he said, “Family #grandma #gradpa #cousins #Mimi #Ava .”
Olga, however, was more revealing about the trip to Nigeria on her official Instagram account.
She was well received and sprayed money along with getting involved in the traditional dances.
She said, “What an amazing day! Thank you for such a warm welcome to all 26 Obis Next time we’ll bring some moves too, although hard to compete p.s. I was not aware of the spraying tradition #nigeria”
On her Twitter account said, “ The roots have spoken!!! It’s official, Mia has joined a local band #abuja #nigeria”
The Nigerian captain is expected to return to the national team ahead of the next 2019 AFCON qualifier against Seychelles in March.
Mikel Obi has been enjoying his break starting with taking his daughters on a lunch date when they were in London.
