The 43-year-old joins the Toffees on a two-and-a-half-year deal just twelve months after being sacked at his former club Chelsea.
Lampard replaces Rafa Benitez after the Spanish manager was let go on January 18, 2022, six-and-a-half months after taking the job at Goodison Park.
In his first words to Everton's official website, the former Derby County and Chelsea manager sent a message to the players asking for their support and togetherness in achieving the club's lofty aims.
Lampard said: "It is a huge honour for me to represent and manage a club the size and tradition of Everton Football Club. I’m very hungry to get started. After speaking to the owner, Chairman and the Board, I very much felt their passion and ambition. I hope they felt my ambition and how hard I want to work to bring it together.
“You can feel the passion Everton fans have for their club. That will be hugely important. As a team – the competitive level that the Premier League brings and the position we are in the table – we certainly need that. It’s a two-way thing. I think Everton is a unique club in that you can really understand what the fans want to see. The first thing they want is to fight and desire and that must always be our baseline.
“My first message to the players will be that we have to do this together. We’ll try to do our job and I know the fans will be there backing us.”
Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi would be hoping to be one of the players to be given a new lease on life under the English manager after the Nigerian international found game time hard to come by under Benitez.
Iwobi has made only 15 appearances for Everton this season, completing the full 90 minutes in only four of those matches.
The former Arsenal player has scored only two goals and provided one assist this season with his last goal involvement coming on November 1, 2021, against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
