Ademola was linked with a sensational switchof nationality from England to Nigeria is the early part of the year.

The switch has however not materialized as Ademola still wears the England jersey in their 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers.

He was on the scoresheet for England in their last encounter against Andorra and has been advised to turn down the opportunity to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

According to a report by the, Boothroyd has assured that Ademola will feature for England U-21 at Euro 2019.

In the report, Boothroyd had a conversation with Ademola that they are aware of the approach by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) linking him with a switch to Nigeria.

Ademola responded by assuring that he is still committed to the cause of representing England at the Euro 2019 rather than Nigeria at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Boothroyd said, “Every time I see him I have a little joke with him about it. I say: "Why would you want to leave us?

‘But he's very focused on England – that's what he tells me. He says he wants to play international football for England.”

Boothroyd then went on to state that Ademola struggled after was unable to make his initial loan move to Bundesliga.

He said, “He's had a tough time of it, but he's been better recently.

“He got himself into a state over summer when he didn't know where he would be playing or if he would be moving or not. Now he has just got his head around the fact that wherever it is he is playing, he has to play well.

"He has told himself "I just have to focus on me" which is right. When you look at Dominic Solanke, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tammy Abraham, Reiss Nelson, Ryan Sessegnon, and Ademola, we have some real attacking talent.”

Ademola is yet to play for the England senior team which still makes him eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
