Men of the Department of State Services (DSS) stormed the NFFsecretariat on Monday, July 23 to eject Giwa and his staff on the orders from ‘above’.

Hours later, the DSS led Mohammed Sanusi, the Secretary-General of the NFF to his office where he resumed his duties as head of the football federation secretariat in Nigeria.
President of the NFF Amaju Pinnick is expected to resume his office when he returns from Rabat, Morocco where he attended a CAF meeting.
FIFA ban
The NFF headquarters descended into chaos on Monday, July 2 when Giwa, backed by the Minister of Sports Solomon Dalung assumed office as the substantive president of the NFF.
Dalung directed the NFF to comply with a Supreme Court judgement that overturned the election of NFF president Pinnick.
These events drew the ire of who threatened to ban Nigeria.
