Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo has donated houses to widows in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State.
Before his rise to stardom as a professional footballer, Ighalo started his development in Ajegunle.
The former Manchester United striker is known to give back to the community. Ighalo decided to assist widows in the Ajegunle area with houses and cash gifts.
Ighalo then took to his official Instagram account to post photos and videos from the occasion.
Along with the post was a message that said, “I had a wonderful time with my widows in Ajegunle, thank you Mama's for all the prayers. I can see all the blessings.”
In one of the videos, Ighalo addressed the widows and stated why he decided to come visit the place.
He said. “From where this money came, God will double it. I bought this house for the widows two years ago.
"This is my first time of coming here; only my mother has been here. “Then, God put it in my heart to do it. Now I have seen how this place looks like.”
One of the widows who benefitted from the houses then chose to praise Ighalo for his assistance.
She said, “If God has blessed you, how many people did you bless? The year is coming to an end, it will not swallow you because you have practiced pure religion, you have taken care of the widows.”
Ighalo is now in the Saudi Arabia Professional League with Al-Shabab. The 32-year-old is expected to be part of the Super Eagles team to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to hold in Cameroon early next year.
