The Delta State Election Petitions Tribunal has upheld the victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the April 11 elections in the state.

Okowa’s victory was challenged by Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Chief Great Ogboru.

The tribunal also dismissed Ogboru’s petition and ordered him to pay the sum of N50,000 to each of the respondents in the case.

Okowa is the first respondent while the second and third respondents are the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) respectively.

The tribunal is now considering the petition brought against the governor by All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Olorogun O'tega Emerhor.
