Easter is a special day. For Catholics, this is the most important holiday - they remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The atmosphere is joyful and uplifting. We spend time together as a family and enjoy ourselves.
However, not everyone is aware that certain rules and restrictions apply on Easter Sunday.
What should you not do on Easter? The list includes several things
In the Church, the Lent period is a 40-day period of preparation for the most important Christian celebration. It is worth using it for reflection, penance and conversion. There is a strict fast on Good Friday. Traditionally, after blessing the food on Holy Saturday, we begin the celebration. However, there are some things you must not do on Easter.
Sunday is a holy day that we should dedicate to God and use for rest. You should not then clean, wash, work or do other things. Especially on such a special Sunday as Easter, you should refrain from such activities. There was time earlier for cleaning and cooking. We shouldn't do this on Easter anymore.
We would also like to remind you that you cannot miss Holy Mass on this day. Visiting a church and attending a service is obligatory for Catholics. Just like receiving the Eucharist. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church says, Holy Communion should be received at Easter. Failure to do so is a sin. However, we do not have to go to confession, provided that we remain in a state of sanctifying grace.
We should also not quarrel or disagree on Easter. The holidays are a good time to bury the hatchet and resolve disagreements. It is then worth forgiving, apologising and making an effort to repair the relationship.
