However, with those long nails, performing simple tasks like typing on your phone, or inserting your earring into your ear, or clasping your necklace, or retrieving your card from the ATM slot became difficult and sometimes, frustrating.

Here are some hacks to help you perform simple tasks with your long nails;

1. Text with the pad of your thumb

Typing on your phone with the tip of your fingers becomes impossible with your long nails, so you have you learn to type with the pad of your thumb. However, when typing on your computer, you can conveniently use the tip of your acrylic nails.

2. Wear gloves

Acrylic nails have a very annoying habit of ripping through tights, knits sweaters, or any other thin fabric. When you want to put on your clothes, slip on your gloves to avoid destroying your clothes with your claws.

3. Use your knuckles to scoop your cream

Using your fingers to scoop your cream and other skincare products when you have your acrylic nails on will get those products stuck under your long nails. Instead, use your knuckles to scoop your products. If your knuckles won't fit into the jar, use the tip of your nail as a scoop.

4. Use a fork or spoon to open cans

Don't ever try to use your acrylic nail to lift the lid of a can. You will damage them and even injure yourself while at it. Use the flat end of a spoon or fork to open cans. A key would also work in this situation.

5. Keep a pair of tweezers handy

Acrylic nails make gripping tiny objects impossible. There will come a time when you need to remove your debit card from your wallet or the ATM slot or even pick up a flat object from the floor, a pair of tweezers will always come to your rescue, so keep them close.

6. Wrap a tissue around your fingers when using the bathroom

The last thing you want is remnants of anything that belongs in the toilet getting stuck under your nails. Wrap the tissue entirely around your fingers to avoid sticky situations.

7. Avoid stud earrings and jewelry with clasps

Until you've mastered using the sides of your fingers perfectly, you might want to avoid stud earrings and jewelry with clasps because your nails will always get in the way. Instead, opt for hoops or elastic band jewelry.

You don't have to choose between using your hands and wearing acrylic nails, enjoy the best of both worlds with the hacks listed above.
